Director Profile

Classes are taught by Kamakoa Page Zablan. Ms. Page has been teaching classical ballet for over 15 years. She has¬†taught at St. Laurent School of Dance, Hawai’i State Ballet, and Hawai’i Starshine.

Her dance training started at the Hawai’i State Ballet, Kamakoa later danced with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and currently performs with Tau Dance Theatre and The Don Tiki Show. Ms. Page specializes in hawaiian ballet that fuses ballet with hawaiian music. She has performed with Raitea Helm, Roland Cazimero, Makana, Tony Conjugation, OBrian Eselu, Teresa Bright, Sean Tiwanack, Anita Hall and Jerry Santos of Olomana.

Ms. Page has gone on tour with the ECHO project that was funded by the “No child left behind act”. She was chosen to represent Hawaii as a native hawaiian dancer. She along with six other dancers from Alaska, Wompanoag Nation, and Cape Verde’ Islands performed at Smithsonian museums and schools in New York, Washington D.C., Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, New Bedford, Salem Peabody Essex Museum, Plymouth Plantation,Anchorage and Eskimo Villages in Barrow Alaska. Where they performed and educated children about song, dance and Native Culture. Ms. Page was also trained to be an Aerial artist and performed at the Waikiki nei Showroom.

Kamakoa Page established The Page Academey of Dance in 2008. Ms. Page’s diverse background and a passion for teaching young children has helped build and teach a standard methodology of classical ballet which nurtures young bodies, with age appropriate development and strong technique. Dance training can be a wonderful addition to a child’s life, the awareness of the anatomy and the ability to control the body’s muscles, as well as finding their creativity and the artist within will stand them in good stead for all they do. The Page Academy of Dance Pre-Ballet & Tap program introduces keiki between the ages of 3-5 to the joy of dance with stretching, the use of Tap as a tool for the little ones to learn the beat of the music, rhythms and dance basics in a fun and creative environment.

The Page Academy of Dance offers strength building, flexibility, focus, creativity and a love of movement to boys and girls & adults interested in dance. Ms. Page has a passion for teaching dance and is very excited to share her talents with you!
